New surgical techniques have been developed to relieve hip pain in young adults before the onset of advanced arthritis. This may also delay the need for hip replacement surgery but as yet, this is not able to be proven.
Results presented from the Cornwall Hip Foundation surgeons experience of their initial experience of over 140 cases of surgically treated patients with hip pain are encouraging and as techniques of diagnosis and surgery improve, it is likely that the results will improve also.
This site is designed to provide information to patients and medical professionals with an interest in diseases and treatments for the painful adult hip.
While the focus is predominantly on hip disease, the surgical team also offer treatment of other orthopaedic conditions and this information is also included on this site for access by current or prospective patients.
